1995. 6th Meeting of the CITES Plants Committee. Tenerife, Canary Islands.

1993. Round table on Prospects of seed catalogs in Mexico. 6th Meeting of the National Botanic Gardens of Mexico, Merida, Mexico.

1992. Technical Direction of the International Conference ETHNOBOTANY-92, held in Cordoba, in September. Sponsored by the Government of Andalusia (Andalusia Agenda 92), Cordoba City Council and Cordoba University. 500 participants. The conference brought together the most important experts in the field of Ethnobotany, as well as many other disciplines (history, anthropology, agriculture, tissue culture, botanic gardens, and conservation).

1992. Organisation of the 1st National Seminar on the Implementation of the Washington Convention (CITES) held in Cordoba and addressed to inspectors of the CITES Management Authority, Customs, Environmental Agency, Spanish Environmental Police, and others. The meeting was held 7 years after Spain signed the CITES Convention and was the first meeting of this kind.

1991 Organisation of the Cordoba Botanic Garden 1st National Seminar on Implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Fauna and Flora (23-26 November). 90 participants from the Spanish Scientific, Management and enforcement authorities.

1991. Organisation of the international graduate course on Conservation Techniques in Botanic Gardens: Application to the Latin American and Caribbean area. 29 September-12 October, Havana (Cuba). 38 participants

1988, 1989, 1990. Organisation of three courses on in vitro culture aimed at graduates. 75 participants.

1987. Member of the Programming Committee of the International Symposium on Techniques for the Conservation of Threatened plants held in Cordoba and sponsored by IUCN. 165 participants. This meeting was convened in parallel with the official opening of Cordoba Botanic Garden. It was attended by important figures in the world of conservation and botanic gardens such as the General Director of IUCN, the Chair of the International Association of Botanic Gardens Europe-Mediterranean Section and the Director of BGCI.

1985. Member of the Organizing Committee of the First Meeting of Directors and Curators of Spanish and Portuguese Botanic Gardens held in Cordoba, Spain. Publication of the 1st Newsletter of the Iberian-Macaronesian Association of Botanic Gardens. 40 participants. This meeting led to the creation of the Iberian-Macaronesian Association of Botanic Gardens; the by-laws of the association were discussed and adopted at the meeting.
