1985-1988, 1990-1992: Secretary of the Iberian-Macaronesian Association of Botanic Gardens for the coordination and maintenance of scientific and technical relations between Botanic Gardens of Spain and Portugal.
1981 to 1986: Curator of Cordoba Botanic Garden; creation and development of the Botanic Garden Seed Bank, Public Foundation of Cordoba Botanic Garden.
1979 to 1981: Member of the team that created, established and developed Cordoba Botanic Garden (Spain); apart from purely scientific aspects, this included conception and planning activities: advice on acquisition of equipment, communicating with botanic gardens around the world, designing collecting expeditions, study and conservation of plant species, handling collections, preparing reports on activities and budgets for equipment acquisition, design and supervision of the facilities, programmes and exhibits of an environmental nature. In 2003, the Botanic Garden had a staff of 40 people, with total investment estimated at 15,000,000 € since 1980; Cordoba University and Cordoba City Council.
